Match Report
Loughborough Endowed Schools Boys-U14A vs  Regional Finals
On: Tuesday, 06 Mar 2018
Venue: Away

Game 1 v Bromsgrove
Lost 2-0

Game of 2 halves this one, unfortunately however, only in the performance. The boys conceded both goals in amateur fashion in the first half, then came out and dominated much of the second half, but with too little threat.

Game 2 v KES
Lost 2-1

This one, a nail biter. KES struck first but LGS didn't lose their heads and, through some beautiful passing connections, won a short corner. Sam Jones stepped up to send a rebounded shot into the goal, which was enough to send ripples of joy and belief throughout the team. However, LGS were unable to continue their success and struggled to stay on top, with KES scoring late on sending the boys out of the competition.

Game 3 v Uppingham
Lost 3-0

This one was a dish best served cold. For it was Uppingham whom LGS had beaten in the Midlands Finals last month. Unfortunately for LGS however, Uppingham were extremely prolific in front of goal.

Both Uppingham and Bromsgrove went on to qualify for the National Finals, so the boys did very well to compete throughout. Stand out player on the day was Sam Jones who was, at all times, the most hungry player on the pitch. Special mention goes to a young and inspiring Benedict O'Donague from the year below (Year 8), who had an exceptionally mature and composed day in goals.
