Match Report
Loughborough Endowed Schools Boys-U13A vs  Nottingham High School
On: Saturday, 11 Nov 2017
Venue: at Home

Despite the frustrating outcome of a draw, the U13 As delivered a strong all round performance against Notts High. From the start the boys played with confidence, seeking to apply pressure with their physicality in the carry and at the breakdown. In the game’s opening phases Tom Hopkins darted over from close range following a period of sustained pressure. Additional tries were added by Theo Le Jeune and MOTM Danny Stone. Nottingham were allowed back into the game following some high tackling on some of their powerful runners, but it would be fair to say that the Grammar played most of the rugby, with Dan Fraser running the game effectively from 10. In the game’s last minutes a line break from the high school looked threatening, however intelligent and aggressive play from James Burns and George Stephen at the breakdown and tackle area respectively secured the draw for LGS. Though the victory evaded them, the lads can take great confidence from some of the attractive and effective rugby they played on the day.
