The first away fixture at Wellingborough posed the first test of LGS outside of the comfort of 'Fortezza Quorn' and, on a difficult, muddy surface a point was a good result. The pitch itself had a big bearing on the match itself and LGS faced uphill against the wind in the first half and defended well to stay in the game, falling behind to first time finish from a wide cross. 'Callejon' Rana held the ball up well once again and 'Hamsik' Horsnall provided touch in the midfield although chances were limited as 'Marchisio' Towne did a god job at battling the physicality in the centre. The opposition clearly saw 'Dybala' Rouse as a threat and tried their best to take him out the game but Rouse came back well, after coming off temporarily, to influence the game in the role of centrocampista. The oppositions 'Delap' style throw was a danger that was well defended on the whole by Rugani, Godin and Morgan.

Half-time saw the advantage switch to us and being patient was key. A number of chances were created, including a good penalty shout when Corden was brought down in the box, but the equaliser came from a free-kick midway in their half. Testing delivery from MoM 'Verratti' Gamble saw the keeper fail to deal with it leaving 'Higuain' Corden with a tidy finish. With the momentum, LGS pushed forward, buoyed by the runs of 'Alex Sandro' Thompson and 'Candreva' Mynard, pressing from the front saw Corden catch the keeper on the ball to make it 1v2. Not long after, a poorly defended free-kick for the home side saw them score one of the few chances they had in the second half which made it 2v2. The last 10 minutes were a little too open with Wellingborough hitting the bar from close range and forcing a good save from Taylor. Gamble and Thompson went close near the end but a good away performance which could have gone our way had the match been on a flat surface.

Oundle next week away.
